Ball nights are the one night of the year when rideshare surge is at its worst and every taxi in town is busy. Parents booking ahead is the entire solution.

The trip home is the part that matters most, and the part most often left to chance at 11pm.

How we run it

Parents book and pay; students travel. We confirm the pickup point and time with whoever booked it, and message on arrival so you know they are on their way.

For a group we send a people mover or a twelve-seat van, which keeps everyone together and costs less per head than several cars.

Can I book and pay without travelling myself?

Yes, that is how most ball bookings work. You book, you pay, and we send confirmation to you.

Will you tell me when they are picked up and dropped off?

If you ask us to, yes — a quick message at both ends.

Is the return trip guaranteed?

The return is booked as its own trip with a set time and pickup point, so the vehicle is allocated in advance rather than found on the night.

How many can travel together?

Up to six in a people mover and up to eleven in our large van. Larger groups go in multiple vehicles under one booking.

What if the ball finishes later than planned?

Message the driver and we will adjust where we can. Tell us the likely finish time when booking so we plan for it.

Pickups outside Auckland and Christchurch are $95, $130, $145 and $215 per hour. A driver travel charge is added to your quote when no vehicle is based near your pickup point. Hourly hire is only suitable when your travel starts and finishes in the same town — it is designed for local running around, meetings, shopping, weddings and events within one town. For a one-way trip between towns, or a journey that ends somewhere else, book an intercity transfer or a day trip instead, which is priced for the distance and includes the driver's return leg.
